On a blistering summer day of May 30, the DP Tutorials crew arrived at the city known for its Matri Bhandar sweets, Cumilla.

The third session of DP Tutorials Study Abroad Tour 2023, was hosted at the prestigious Nawab Faizunnesa Government Girls’ High School’s Auditorium.

The day was hot but the enthusiastic participants and the volunteers presented us with one of the sweetest welcomes.

DP Tutorials member, Mohtashim Monowar, led volunteers from Aruddho Ekattor, DP Tutorials Cumilla’s organizing partner, to make the session a success. From going to various schools to inform students about our session, to working at the registration desk, to maintaining decorum during the session, our volunteers were diligent in their duties.

Our CEO Leads the Way
The auditorium was brimming with eager attendees as Rafiat Amir introduced our CEO, Dipro Prattoy, who led the session sharing with everyone about his undergraduate studies in the US, and the do’s and don’ts of applying to a foreign country.

Next, our star student speakers, who applied to universities during the Fall 2023 application session, took the stage to share their stories. Sababa Ahmed, an incoming freshman at Connecticut College, spoke about overcoming her hurdles of applying abroad, despite coming from a conservative town. Tasmim Kabir Mahim, who will be a freshman at UT Arlington in the fall, shared his life-altering experience as an exchange student in the US. Fatema Junaed, who will be doing her bachelor’s in Malaysia, spoke about how she overcame her rejections and financial boundaries and applied to four countries.

An Electrifying End
As the night slowly came to a close, Dipro Prattoy shared his father’s stories about working hard from Cumilla to become a doctor, clarified several questions about studying overseas, and even got a marriage proposal…as a joke of course.

Despite the heat and load-shedding, more than 150 people stayed till the end, concluding our second last tour session in Cumilla.
