DPT Study Abroad Tour 2023, our marquee event,

Started off with a 5-hour session hosted at the capital, Dhaka, on May 21, 2023, at the Auditorium of the International Mother Language Institute.

First Came The Words Of Experience
Our founder and CEO, Dipro Prattoy, who recently graduated from the University of Michigan, shared with our attendees all about applying to college in the US, living in the US, and finishing his 4 years long Computer Science Engineering degree in a mere 2 years and 8 months.

Then the floor went to our first guest speaker, Tasfiqur Rob, from Case Western Reserve University. His exemplary ECA profile, his brainchild ‘The Purnota Foundation’, and finally his education in the US – were a few key points of the inspiring journey he shared with our listeners.

Blazing an excellent volunteering profile, Anika Tabassum from the University Of Redlands, the first and only Hunsaker scholar from Bangladesh was our second guest speaker for the session.  She shared her tale of making it to the USA with a full-ride scholarship despite 3 gap years and a path of ups and downs.

Our Brightest Faces Revealed Themselves
It was time for DPT’s successful pupils to share their stories!

First up was Farhan Mahabub, an incoming freshman at Drexel University majoring in architecture. Farhan, one of our top students and leading web developer, talked about his passion for architecture and his US application journey.

Tasmim Kabir Mahim, an incoming freshman at UT Arlington majoring in Computer Science, was our last speaker for the day. One of our best operation officers and another top student, Mahim talked about his time as an exchange student in the US and also about his foreign applications.

The End With A Bit Of Fun
We let our audience have a fun session and they left no stone unturned!

From doing Ananta Jalil impressions, a game of rock, paper, scissors, quizzes, and even Om Shanti Om dialogue deliveries, it was really a session to remember. The winners of the ‘Fun Session’ won exciting prizes given to them by Dolphie, the Edvive Mascot.

Dipro Prattoy also presented awards to our DP Tutorials CommonApp Essay Competition 2023 winners Noor A Rasha Rahman Rodoshi, Tanjila Tasnim, and Sumaya Islam Faria. Appreciation Awards were also presented to Anika Tabassum and Tasfiqur Rob for joining us at our Dhaka session. The DPT team presented Dipro Prattoy with the “Best Boss Award” as a tribute for all his hard work towards building the team and the startup.

A session supposed to end before evening went deep into the night, reaching its conclusion through an engaging QNA session between our audience and the speakers. Dipro Prattoy delivered a final note, leaving a few words about our mentorship cohort for the Fall ‘24 application cycle, designed to guide students throughout the process.

With more than 400 attendees and lots of memories, the spectacular first leg of the tour came to an end!

The Tribute From Dhaka
We dedicate the ending of this blog to thank our guest speakers, Anika Tabassum and Tasfiqur Rob, and to thank all of you who were present at the Dhaka session.

We also express our gratitude to our title sponsor ‘Passive Journal’, our gold sponsor ‘Edvive’ and our visionary sponsor ‘Jomee Jomaa’ for being a part of the Dhaka tour.
